Media Convergence: Media institutions which are being merged together to form one.
Globalisation: Media companies are now dealing with a bigger market. This means that there is going to be the need to expand.
Multi-Media: More than one type of media.
Convergent: When more than one media group merge together.
RSS Reed: This updates any news feed automatically meaning resulting in the movement away from searching on the Internet.
Common Digital Storage (CDS): Any type of technology that can store digital information. This could include videos, music, images and documents. Devices that could hold these are: Mobile Phones, USBs and Hard Drives
Internet: A Group of computer which allows users to connect with each other.
World Wide Web ( WWW): The format a certain website is displayed in. For example HTML.
Web 2.0: This is the second phase of the Internet. This phase has now moved into social media.
Web 3.0: This is third phase. However it is run by Apps. By it being run by apps it means that it is inbuilt and packaged into a certain device.
Cloud: You can access any document from where ever you are. This includes the use of either the iCloud or Drop Box. These documents can be accessed on your computer, mobile phones etc.
This lesson has helped me to understand the key terms that are related to this topic. It has also helped me to understand how the media industry has developed and is still developing.
